We Are Recruiting for a New Sub-Regional Hub!
Following the successful pilot and secondary phase of the DLG sub-regional hub model, we are looking to establish a new hub with a core focus on African Diasporic dance forms. The need for this hub emerged from a conversation that was held at the DLG Spring summit 2024, and subsequent discussions with an informal group, project managed by Samina Beckford.
Roles
Our hub model works by offering 3 roles:
-
Convenor
-
Senior Ambassador
-
Youth Ambassador

We are currently recruiting for the convenor role.
You are welcome to apply as a team for these positions or if only applying for the convenor role it will be the convenors responsibility to recruit for the ambassadors.

We would like to ensure these roles are filled by representitives who identify as having some African diasporic Heritage ie African (including North African), African-Caribbean, African- British Caribbean, British Caribbean.
The Convenor Role
The convenor will work approx. 18 days over 9 months, June 2025 - March 2026.
The hub convenors role is to develop strategic infrastructure to maximise collaboration and shared vision in order to build ambitious plans for the future and support connectivity within the African diasporic dance community.
We imagine the convenor would be an organisation with existing infrastructure to support the growth of the hub.

African Diaspora
We acknowledge that this is not one community but formed of many and varied intersecting parts. The dance forms we include in this are cultural dance forms traditional, contemporary and current and by dance leaders we mean anyone identifying as having African Diasporic heritage performing creating or making dance happen in professional or non-professional settings who considers this to be a significant part of their work/professional identity.
